A strong pro-life advocate, Betty was committed to her family, her Catholic faith, volunteer work, her many close friends, and the arts in Minneapolis. She was elegant and kind, and always carried herself with poise and dignity. Her father was an engineer with the Great Northern Railroad, and she loved to travel by train in the 1954-1983 to visit them in Havre and help care for them. When her nieces visited, she always showed them the city’s sights and took them to museums, plays, and the basilicas. She was preceded in death by her parents, John S. and Mary J. Lumpkin and by her sister, Mary Lou and her brother, Jack. She is survived by her sister, Cecelia Bentley of Chanute, KS; her brother, Bill of Great Falls, MT and her brother, Tom of Cheyenne, WY.
