Marie V. Sadler (nee Crever) age 98, of Bloomington passed away July 30, 2009. Preceded in death by husband, Daniel; parents, Henry & Mary Crever; brother, Connie Crever, daughter-in-law, Rose Mary Sadler. Survived by children, Virginia (Ronald) Davies, James Sadler, Richard (Barbara) Sadler, Thomas (Betty) Sadler, Annette Sadler and Jane (Gary) Matson; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brother, Florian Crever; sister, Mildred Cummings and sister-in-law, Lorraine Crever. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at The Church of the Nativity of Mary, 9900 Lyndale Ave. South with visitation one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Hugo, MN at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Maryknoll, the Salvation Army or your local food shelf.

McGregor, Arthur L.

Arthur L. McGregor, age 80, died peacefully on July 30, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Arthur was preceded in death by his mother, Jenny. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna; children, Linda (Rick), Laura (Nick), David (Patti), Steven (Delfina), Sharon (Chuck), Sheila (Fareed); his 14 grandchildren, Amy (Joe), Paul (Lacey), Mike, Erik (Kelly), Dan, Katie, Rob, Tom, Meghan, Jose, Loddy, Layla, Ethan, and Connor; 8 great- grandchildren, Samantha, Josh, Julia, Alex, Alexis, Carter, Tyler and Kaylee. Arthur joined the Army at age 18 and served as an MP in the occupation of Japan. He then graduated from the Twin City Television Lab at Beck Studios. He was the owner of Western Roofing Supply Company, a business which he acquired in 1955 and continued to serve as C.E.O. until his passing. He also designed and built several commercial buildings at Minnehaha and Lake St. in South Mpls. The most important thing to him was his family. He loved music. He had a wonderful singing voice and enjoyed recording songs for his family. He had a quick wit and a generous spirit. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral service Tuesday, August 4th, 11:00 AM, Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S. Visitation Monday 5-9 PM, Gill Brothers Southwest Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Ave. So., with visitation one hour prior to service at church. Following luncheon, interment will be held at Lakewood Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF) or Cancer Kids Fund at Children’s Hospital of MN.

Worthington, Leona M.

Leona Michelle Worthington passed away peacefully on July 30, 2009. She was born March 9, 1914 in Pittsburgh, PA and was 95 when she died. She was one of seven children born to Caleb and Magnolia Davis and lived most of her life in Pittsburgh. She graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1932. she married Walter C. Worthington in 1935 and they had two children, Walter Jr. and Robert. When her children, grew older, she earned a certificate in food service management from the University of Pittsburgh and worked as a food service employee for the Pittsburgh Public School System for several years. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. and son, Walter Jr. She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife, Dorothy and their married children, Kevin Worthington, Deborah Benavides and Adrienne Crowley; as well as Kim and Scott Worthington, the children of Walter, Jr. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Dorthea “Dot” and Henrietta and brother, Donald, all of Chicago, IL. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren and a host of loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington Gideon Pond Chapel, 9889 Penn Ave. S. on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11:00AM. Her ashes will be buried at 10AM at the Uniondale Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA on August 22, 2009. Buchanan, Waldamar P. “Wally” Born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1926, resident of Richfield, MN, died peacefully on July 29, 2009 age 83. Wally graduated from Central High School 1944. He proudly served with the 104th Infantry Division (Timberwolves), during WWII, in the European Arena. Graduating from the U of M with a BA and MA degree, from the College of Education, Wally worked 34 years in the Mpls. Public Schools, as an Elementary Principal and teacher. He enjoyed many life-long friends through social and sports activities. Central HS Reunions and Men’s Club, softball teammates “Breakfast with LeRoy”, BAJ (Born Again Jocks) golf buddies, and ELEMENS (Elementary Men’s Poker Club). Golfing and travel became passionate endeavors throughout his retirement years. Wally truly enjoyed people and pursued life to its fullest. Wally’s handshake was like his word…solid, honest and true! Preceded in death by parents, Peter and Wilhelmine; brother, Donald; son, Sean Michael; Marguerite, the mother of his children; brother-in-law, James Lodahl; nephew, David, who died unexpectedly July 15, 2009. Char (Wagy) Age 85 of Plymouth, Mn. Passed away on July 21, 2009, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus. Charlotte was born on August 1st, 1923 in Hibbing, Mn. , the daughter of Jennie and Thornton Wagy. Married to Albert Lerza in 1940, June 25th. Preceded in death by her hu sband Albert and beloved daughter Sharon, five sisters and two brothers. Throughout Charlotte’s life she enjoyed her gift as a seamstress, designer, artist in oil paintings, a great cook and part owner in the consignment shop “Penny Pincher” in Wayzata and also accomplished in many other endeavors. She enjoyed the past five winters in Surprise, AZ. Charlotte valued the love and companionship of family and many dear friends. Always putting the needs of others first. Her philosophy of life was to love each other, be kind and happy. Survived by daughter and caregiver, Judy Lerza; nephew, Phillip (Mary) Williams; nieces, Shelley Peterson (Nathan), Susan Halvorson (Jodi), Cathy (Tim) Drury; sister-in-law, Barb (Jack) Schaeffer; many nieces and nephews of the Poisson family; her best friends, Judy (John)Graves and Ida (David) Slettum. Longtime member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. She brought so much love and joy to all our lives – she is deeply loved and missed. Funeral service, Monday, July 27, 2009 ~ 11 AM at Mt. Wenborg, J. Dale A 52 year resident of Bloomington: born June 26, 1926 in Minneapolis and died July 17, 2009 in Bloomington. Dale graduated in 1944 from Roosevelt High and a 1951 Graduate of Macalester College. Dale served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific (1944-1946) and is a retired 39 year Northwest Airline employee, 34 year active involvement AA/Alanon, former Editor/Publisher of the “Dry Sheet” and traveled extensively and frequently Internationally, primarily through Southeast Asia. Survived by son, Daniel (Wendy) Wenborg; longtime companion, Ann Stevens; sister, Beverly (Perk) Perkins; brother, Doug (Sherry) Wenborg. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Gordon Wenborg and G.
